Sorry if this is the wrong place ect.

I am newish to the whole VB stuff with in reason, basic would be totally basic.

What i need is to have a small program that will simply read devices and list the device name (and address, not nessassary) then simply write to a txt doc or simply write to a db, using .asp etc thats all no need to send if pair with etc simply log the device names etc. with times and dates.

This is opening a whole new section of the pure basics for me.  I am after links etc to how to do it from scratch(idiots guide) etc a pre done program would be nice but then it would have to be open source so i can see how its done and then create my own work etc it will be for PC desktop/Laptop computers and NOT mobile technology it will be using a bluetooth enabled computer and either run from a server or locally( for testing) etc
