    ExtensibilitySample not working

    Hi,

I am trying to get the extensibilityMenus working on both WM5 and WM6, but it doesn't seem to work.

I did install the InTheHand.Mobile.3.0.cab successfully on the PDA (it shows in Add/remove programs).

I compile and debug the ExtensibilitySample. This creates the required registry settings under HKLM/Software/InTheHand/ContactsCardExampleMenu

    But nothing happens in contacts.

When I did this using C++ we needed to add registry settings under HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Shell/Extensions/ContextMenus/Contacts/ but I don't see anything here for InTheHand?

Does that mean that I am missing something, or did the setup not work correctly?

     Thanks in advance,

    Re: ExtensibilitySample not working

I think the .cab file does not register the InTheHand.WindowsMobile.Native.dll in version 3.0 SP1.

I have done a manual registerdll (via SOTI MobiControl) and now it seems to work!

     Thanks,

I'm checking with Microsoft on the installation issue, it may be related to the signing certificates used - while both the cab and the dll are properly signed they have different certificates.

    Re: ExtensibilitySample not working

    Thanks Peter,

I don't know if it is certificates... Check if the .dll is being registered during setup, as there were no messages and I could easily register the dll manually.

I'm working on this at the moment. Regarding menu items appearing in the wrong places I've found that although some of the extensibility points are marked as deprecated with replacements for WM5.0 and above if the legacy extension points are used the menu items appear. I'll get this resolved for the 3.1 release which is close to completion.
