    Bluetooth handsfree. Transferring issue.

    Hi

I'm hoping someone can help me with i interoperability problem i am facing. My company supplies HTC devices to Southern Africa as well as other mobile technologies. Another unit we sell is the New Navigon 7100 GPS Navigator which has built-in Bluetooth hansdfree capability (bluesoleil bluetooth stack).

We have a problem with most of HTC devices that when a call is made or received the audio is neither played through phone or the handsfree on the GPS. When the "transfer to phone" button is pressed the audio plays on the phone, and when re-pressed it plays successfully on the handsfree. Its only when the call is initially connected that no audio plays through either.

There is no problem when using the HTC TyTN and HTC x7500 (Athena/Advantage) with the WM5 or WM6 roms. But on other devices such as the s710 (vox), HTC Touch, p4350, p3300, and p3400 it has this problem.

I've spent a bit of time sifting through the registry and the only difference i see is the audiogateway dll used. Although when i changed the dll of a TyTN to the one of the Touch the phone still worked correctly. Which kind of ruined my theory...

If anyone has any suggestions regarding this problem please help out! I've tried registry edits (maybe not the right ones), bluetooth applications, searching the web, praying and crying and nothing's working.

    I'd appreciate any suggestions...

ps: this is not a problem using the bluetooth component, just the default Windows stack, but i figured you guys have more experience with it in general.

     Greg.

The audiogateway component is provided by the OEM and plugs into the stack - it has to be written for the specific audio hardware on the device. Therefore I don't think it's an issue with the stack. Check with HTC to see if there are any ROM updates available for the affected devices.
